The Living Root Bridge Trek is one of the most extraordinary experiences in India. Hidden deep within the forests of Meghalaya, these bridges are created by carefully guiding the roots of rubber trees across streams over several decades until they become strong enough to walk on.
The adventure begins from Tyrna village and descends through thousands of stone steps, dense forests, waterfalls and traditional Khasi villages before reaching the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge at Nongriat.
Along the trek, you’ll encounter crystal-clear natural pools, suspension bridges and breathtaking landscapes that make every step worthwhile. The journey offers a perfect combination of adventure, culture and sustainable engineering passed down through generations.
Whether you’re a trekking enthusiast, photographer or nature lover, the Living Root Bridge Trek is an unforgettable experience that showcases the incredible harmony between humans and nature.
